PHYSIOTHERAPY & MASSAGE
Thanking your
muscles for their hard work
Our
body’s muscles never sleep. The heart is a muscle
that beats every second of our lives, and begins pumping
blood through our bodies before we are born. The intercostal
muscles between our ribs work with the diaphragm muscle
to keep us breathing while we sleep. We cannot focus or
blink our eyes, say a word, take a step, or even sit up
without using our muscles.
To maintain healthy muscles, ligaments, tendons,
and joints, it is very important to provide the essential
macro- and micro-nutrients (healthy foods, vitamins, and
minerals) as well as maintain adequate hydration (plenty
of water). It is also vital to exercise regularly. Finally,
we can care for our musculo-skeletal system with massage
and physiotherapy.
Physiotherapy
At Community Chiropractic & Acupuncture we use a variety
of the state-of-the art devices to maximize soft tissue
health and restoration. Ultra-sound, low frequency electric
stimulation, interferential electro-therapy as well as traction,
massage rollers, and hot packs are available for patient
care.
Physiotherapy is useful for recovery from
disc injury, sprain/strains, fractured bones, and pulled
muscles. Injuries related to motor vehicle accidents, work
or personal injuries of the neck, back, arms or legs are
also successfully treated with physiotherapy.
Massage
Therapeutic
massage is also available at Community Chiropractic &
Acupuncture. Deep Swedish massage, aroma therapy, lymphatic
drainage, reflexology, and trigger point therapy are available.
The benefits of regular massage are more easily experienced
than described – and far more enjoyable.
Research studies, including some conducted
by the National Institutes of Health, suggest that massage
benefits the immune system, is helpful in decreasing blood
pressure, alleviates pain in migraine sufferers, and improves
alertness and performance. Therapeutic massage can stimulate
weak, inactive muscles and compensate for inactivity resulting
from illness or injury. It also can hasten and lead to a
more complete recovery from exercise or injury.
Professional services with experienced
massage therapists are held in private 1-hour and 1 &
½ hour sessions.
