Independent Medical Exam
(IME), Peer Review, and Professional Testimony
Dr. Karen Thomas is an experienced chiropractor
and acupuncturist with 20 years experience performing independent
examinations and peer reviews.
Dr. Thomas has been a practicing chiropractor
since 1987 and has produced IME exams and reports for more
than a dozen companies in New York. Dr. Thomas offers professional
opinion regarding X-ray, CAT Scan, MRI, and EMG/NCV studies.
She can evaluate TCM (Traditional Oriental Medicine) examination
and diagnosis, acupuncture treatment protocols, and chiropractic
analysis, diagnosis, and treatment plans.
Dr. Thomas is a graduate of the New York Chiropractic
College and maintains a thriving private practice in Park
Slope, Brooklyn. She completed a diplomate in Chiropractic
Neurology, a post-doctoral specialty, through Logan College
of Chiropractic and The Carrick Institute.
In 1998, Dr. Thomas added acupuncture to her
qualifications when she completed a four-year program at
the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in New York City.
She has served as a college lecturer, teaching courses in
human physiology, anatomy, medical terminology and psychology.
She teaches programs on complimentary alternative medicine
(CAM) approaches to pain management.
